The Odyssey After-School Enrichment Program, a 501 (c) (3), non-profit, non-sectarian, community-based organization, was created in 2003 from seed money donated by the Presbyterian Women at the First Presbyterian Church of Rockport, to provide a safe after school environment where children receive tutoring and homework assistance while benefiting from extensive academic and enrichment activities.
In these days of hard-working parents, busy schedules and increasing academic standards and expectations, we are challenged to find new ways to build support for our youth and family community in Aransas County. Over the past sixteen years, Odyssey has developed an afterschool program that helps children not only succeed in school but also flourish in life.
Our programming is supported by an array of community partners.
These partners include: Aransas Bird and Nature Club, Aransas County Independent School District, Aransas County Public Library, Aransas County Sheriff's Office, Austin Street Gallery, Camp Aranzazu, Community Aquatic Pool, First Presbyterian Church, Fulton Mansion, Goose Island State Park, Gulf Pointe Plaza Nursing Home, Piecemakers by the Bay Quilt Guild, Rockport Aquarium, Rockport Birding and Kayak Adventures, Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport Coastal Care Nursing Home, Rockport Mail Center, Rockport Parks and Recreation Dept., Rockport Police Depart., Rockport Printing, Rockport Tennis Association, Rockport Volunteer Fire Dept., Rockport Yacht Club, Sigwald Service Co., Texas Cooperative Extension, Texas Maritime Museum, and The Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
